And I'm jumping up and down! Thank you Sookie for inviting me to the group and for encouraging me to join the challenge. Thank you scrapmates for your warm and friendly welcome! Thank you so much Sarah for picking my simple layout. It's my first time and can you guess how it feels? :)
Sharing with you one of the pages...
And now that he's asleep, I also need to sleep. It's an hour past midnight and I need to wake up early tomorrow for a parents meeting at Kuya's school.
But before I say goodnight, let me share with you some random images of what has been keeping me busy (and happy!) lately. Some concrete reminder of God's kindness, generosity, sweetness and love. For all of you, His instruments, you know who you are, I thank you very much :)
Someone's calling me now. Blogging duty stops for the mean time here, Mommy/Wifey duty continues.
Goodnight and be safe everyone :)
Meanwhile, here's my latest ...
There's no way to best descibe this LO than with my two sons' favorite nursery prayer:
"Thank You Lord for this beautiful world, for the sun and the blue blue sky, for the birds and the trees and the flowers and the bees, and the pink pretty butterflies!" just changed red to pink coz that's the color of the butterflies that I have lol :)
Supplies used: American Crafts glitter cardstock and papers, Dear Lizzy typewriter thickers, American Crafts bird stamp, hambly butterflies, prima flowers, brown felt, ribbons, TA glimmer mist, sharpie pen, beads and ribbons from my stash.
Hugs ang kisses for everyone!
So what do we have here....
And my happy book! This is my anything-that-I-wanna-scrapbook-but-don't-have-time-yet-so-keep-it-here-till-i-get-the-time-and-the-inspiration book. And then I won't ever ever get that time so this becomes the scrapbook that I wanna make... Am I making any sense? lol
I can't wait for tomorrow, hubby promised to go with me to my LSS after his basketball game :) Thank you BB!
The challenge: pink and green color scheme, 2 photos. 1 big, 1 small. Think think think!
Since I have 2 boys, I've often used blue, brown, black, yellow for my layouts.... and Im kinda getting tired of blue... so I want to challenge myself a bit more: to use these girly girly sketch and color schemes with my son's photo!
How? Taking advantage of the title and journaling! :):):)
"That cute little smile and cheeky cheeky face make them think you were a girl!"
Thank you imaginisce "beep beep" stamp for helping me convey Miguel is a boy hehe... and the ball sticker (with Ranger glossy accent) too!
A heart banner for a 'trendy' touch! :)
Win or lose, I don't care.... having so much fun (literally smiling the whole time) while doing this page is my ultimate prize!
I would like to thank my ever supportive friends Margie, and Didi for cheering me on this endeavor (And for Mare Cathy and Pare Noy, for the dinner and swimming party that followed after our scrapping that day! So generous of them to serve us the yummy burrito and pizza!) Im so grateful. And congratulations to Marissa, Gae, Fiona (and Marsha!) for being my very first students! And excellent young students at that. I find their journaling cute and so loving.
I'm so happy! I'm doing the things I really love: teaching and crafting. I earn a little bit too :) plus more importantly, there's this fulfillment of doing something for the kids, helping them to develop their creativity while having fun at the same time :)
The next class will be this Sunday in Sea View, East Coast. My good friend Min organized an exclusive scrapbooking party for her daughter's friends. I'm going there with hubby and our kids so maybe we can go swimming after the scrapping :) How great is that! Thank you Min!
See my smiles now? :):):)
Mr. Sun is handpainted (just added some DoodleBug Sugar Coating). Kabalo man ko gali hahaha!
For the embossed effect of each frame, I used sizzix "friend" texture plate, stamped with versa mark, and embossed it with Ranger weathered white... first time to use my heat gun (fun!!!)
Im so happy with my work of art... I feel i love my BFF even more (photo was taken 8 years ago, not married yet)... love! love! love!
For this layout, I made my own pps! embossed the maroon cardstock using sizzix "heart retro" texturing plate. And for the orange cardstock, I did stamping using sepia versa fine ink. Framed the photo with orange paint :)It's fun making this handmade flower out of organza cloth (thanks mader!) combined it with stamped/embosed images, buttons, flowerettes & hambly.
Yesterday was both good and bad. Good because I had a date with a great friend Min. We had lunch with my kids. Exchanged some little presents (She said she gave not the cookie but what's written in the tin packaging:)
But it was bad because she told me they're going back to Japan. I'm gonna miss her :(
Meanwhile, I'm deeply touched by what I read this morning from the "Upper Room".
"Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up."
- Romans 15:2 (NIV)
I have tried to grow roses in my yard; but as the roses get their first blooms, the neighborhood deer strip them down to twigs. This year I decided to transplant the roses into pots on my deck, away from certain destruction. By the time I finished uprooting and repotting the plants, my arms were covered with painful scratches. But it was worth the effort, knowing that I could look forward to beautiful flowers.
Moving my plants made me thankful that God plants me where I can bloom, even though I can be prickly and unlovable. Loving the people who rub me the wrong way - prickly people - is an effort for me. Befriending people is easier when they think the same way I do, like the same things I like, and reciprocate my offerings of friendship. But scripture says, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Luke 10:27), which includes my prickly neighbors, too.
The parable of the Good Samaritan gives me an example to follow. The Samaritan was not intending to become the wounded man's best friend, but he took care of the man's needs. Prickly people may never be my best friends, but I can do all I can to help them bloom. And when I am being prickly, I hope people will direct me to areas where I can bloom. Some of the most beautiful gardens are those with a variety of flowers."
Prayer: Lord, help us to see people through your eyes and to reach out to them unselfishly. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
God loves all of us prickly people and asks us to do the same for one another.

PRAYER FOCUS:Those Needing A Friend
- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
- listening to God's 'word' last night, and being reminded to live like a child. Hubby's sharing touched me much and spoke to me about the thing that's been bugging me. Like a child, I should be trusting and dependent on God, my Father.
- new sandwich maker from Teresa. It's fun to make different kinds of sandwiches for BB's baun every morning =)
- phone calls from friends... Maggie and Min called me today. Isn't it great. Will have a date with Min tom =)
- stumbling upon this line: "butterflies don't count months, but moments" which again enlightened me and made me glad I played, showered, ate, sang, laughed with Migs earlier today while his Kuya was in school. I realized we are having "our moments" these days. Just like when it was only me and Kuya years ago. I also noticed I've been taking lots of photos and videos of him lately. He won't be able to tell me: "Mom, how come Kuya has a million photos and I only got very few?" hahaha!
- starting my two peas in a bucket gallery.
- texting with my cousin Joanne.
- praying the "palm" prayer while Mig's was beside me watching Baby Einstein.
- ym from hubby saying he got a "blind side" movie and we will watch it tonight! yey! :)
- making and sharing with you these 3 quick and easy things...
Express card for Annie! I used stamping and doodling! and some little silver ribbons.
Bedroom slippers! The slippers are actually from Daiso. I just added the flowers using my sizzix "daisies" dies + needle + thread + love :) check out the rest of the designs here! :
