blog candy!!!

Chrissy's got something, I mean YUMMY things goinG on in her blog.. do check it out! :)

bucket list & avatar

Watched these 2 movies last night with hubby and friends Sherwin and Maggie. Love it so much that I slept and woke up pondering about many things in my life now. It's too inspiring. made me strum my guitar first thing today, sang with my little 2 year old, not worrying about the million things I must do to earn money and achieve some dreams. I prayed. Asking for His grace to guide me. Give me wisdom to make the right choices. Not necessarily "good" choices as the world knows. But the "right" ones according to God.

Then I read some inspirational email (I love these emails sent by a friend, Sookie) and this is what I got:

"At the end of the day—in this all-too-short life we all share, all we really have are relationships with people we love and who love us. In light of relationships, the job and career we set as goals now aren't really so important; the ladders we try to climb don't matter so much; the objects we long to possess seem utterly trivial. What really matters in the end is that special look that you share with your spouse, the arms of your child reaching up to you, the quiet comfort of being with a friend who stands by your side in a difficult time."

Now that my perspective is more or less ok :) I'm empowered and feeling energized to finish this:

...a Christmas mini book for my September class @ MWL :)and I will use this in one of the pages:

So many good things are happening this coming Christmas time. I can hardly wait!!!

how's friday night?

... just taking a break from what I'm doing: replying to all my friends and loved ones birthday wishes :) and cropping some shapes in between :) while my boys are all snoring a couple of feet away lol!

... me at thirty six! :)

... and this is the modern day way of keeping love letters, birthday wishes and/or holding a cyber birthday party:
I just need to click on the collage so I can read what's in there.... most precious ones... esp those from my hubby, sisters, and my pupils from more than a decade back *sniff* Thank You Lord for sending people who warm our hearts and give us love!:)

Okay, let's do the zooming...

Friday night's over. Got to rest now for I need to get up early for "Cards to go" workshop tomorrow!
Nighty night! :)

my thoughts @ 36 :)

Yeah! That's how old I am today. I feel a bit funny though. I have noticed I've got 4 more years left, then I'll be 40! OMG! I can't believe it. Until now I still feel 25 LOL! Am I in denial? Am I just childlike? (or childish?). Or am I just feeling very normal? Somebody tell me please....

...started the day wondering where my parents were. I know they're somewhere in Dumaguete "walking". I miss them. I think it's the first birthday of mine without a loud greeting from them. Today I just received an sms... I hope and pray for their safety in the remaining 2 more weeks of the Negros Walk.

... then I played the guitar, sang You Are Our Treasure. The song says it all.
... I read this, this and this. Thank God I have this blog :) it's great to look back :) 3 birthdays back haha!
... asked hubby to buy some meat for hamonada. He went with Miguel. When they got home, they have the meat...  and a bouquet of roses! :)
... i made hamonada and fruit salad for our simple dinner here at home.
... enjoyed reading and re-reading my friends and loved ones' greetings at facebook. I feel so loved! How could I ever thank you guys?:)
... made this layout. a present for myself :)

Some old papers, green paint, ribbons, twine, stamps and a handmade ruffled flower... sketch from the Scrappiest #77  and color challenge hosted by Sookie at SC.

.... now I'm in our room, with my hubby and sons. The three persons who know me. The good. The bad. and still makes me feel everyday is my birthday :) gtg now .... dinner is waiting!

open letter to Mr. Madison Park, etc.

Dear Madison Park (echo park owner),

Today (well actually for the past many days) I have been loving, adoring, your papers.... and I can't stop making something out of them. Tomorrow is my birthday, so you better send me a lot of EP goodies, that is if you can't hire me or something... lol.

Echo Park's very avid fan,
Genevive

... still laughing lol. of course, Mr. Park, I was just kidding. Still have so many things to learn before I can get your attention. So for now, I can only wish: someday, I'm gonna be one of your design team members (Amen!) hehehe...

... I have been having  this nagging lower back pain which stops me from one of my goals this month, and that is to work out at least an hour daily. I guess my ageing body (36 year old tom to be exact) tells me take it easy. sigh.

... it's my friend Chic-chic's birthday today, and I made this  card for her using EP "Life is Good" collection :)

Happy Birthday Mare Chic! :)

Don't you love MME's Quite Contrary collection? I super love!

Tim Holtz inpiration stamps + prima

Who could go wrong with Sizzix flowers? :)

I'm everyday working on with my goals, especially the Negros Walk, but I'm being challenged by my youngest boy with the potty training.... he refuses to do it and would protest: "Mommy NO wewe! NO!"

Oh well :)

March 29, 2002

So happy to finally make a layout of this precious photo I have been keeping for more than eight years. Notice the date on the lower right corner of the photo --- March 29, 2002. That was when Benjo (now my hubby) travelled 8 hours by land via Ceres bus, to visit me in my hometown (you see, Philippines is made up of 7 thousand and more islands. He lived in an island so far away from where I lived). I was more than happy to show him around and introduce him to my family and friends, all of whom liked him so much. I want to believe it was not because of the many "pasalubong" (gifts one brings when he visits someone or comes home from travel). I still remember he gave each of my sisters an expensive Adidas wallets and my parents a bag-full of goodies, to my father's delight because "hopia" is his favorite! "pogi points! hahahaha! Makes me love him more reminiscing all these.

Had a fun time making my "secret" journaling written on vellum, rolled and tied with a bakers twine, and the handmade flower using zipper in  this pink-yellow-orange page. Pink means love, yellow and orange are happy colors! Just like BB and me. Trials are inevitable but we always end our day thanking the Lord for the happiness, the love, the meaningful  life we have with our two sons Rujim and Miguel  :)

This is my entry for Pencil Lines sketch 199, Color Combos Galore challenge 154, Create, and American Crafts punch week challenge. Wish me luck! :)

Supplies used: AC papers,AC glitter cardstock, felt, prima flowers, Choc Chips alphas, dew drops, doilies (a gift from Sookie, thank you!), bakers thread, MS punch, buttons, pearl, and a pink zipper for the handmade flower.

wordless wednesday: 5km hike @ macritchie! :)

four in one

It's Singapore's National Day... Happy 45th Singapura! And we are now getting dressed for a barbecue party with our brothers and sisters in St. Anthony-NC Way. This is also to celebrate the birthdays for August... Happy birthday Josephine, Jolene, Vanessa, Thecla and me! :)

Using my current fave Echo Park, I made this four-cards-in-one-12x12-layout to be placed at the dessert/cake table. After the party, I'll snap off these cards (which I glued temporarily) and give to each of the girls as a simple present :)

crop night fun!

Having an online crop party with Marix, Lily, Sookie and Ceejay! RIGHT NOW!  :):):) Here's my first LO for Pencil Lines sketch 196...

and here's the second!!!! We call the challenge:  "Blind Scrapping" sooo funnnn!!!! lol! (sorry po if pasaway) hehehe!

... and now, time to clean up the mess :

That was one memorable, FUN FUN FUN crop! Thank you so much ladies, especially to our teacher, Sookie! :) Sana may kasunod pa.

BFF Memory Book --- Thank You So Much!

Every time I see this album, I can't stop smiling. Lots of faces and sweet memories come flashing so vividly through my mind!

Thank you again and again Made With Love for counting me as one of your privileged instructors. Sometimes, I still pinch myself and then smile from ear to ear living this dream, of scrapping+teaching+taking care of my kids. For me, life is not all about how many digits we see in our paychecks, it's being happy and being at peace and contented with what we do, on a daily basis. And I believe I should never wait till I reach 40 or 50 to do what I love.

Thank you my dear cute students for allowing me to guide you in making this "memory book". Thank you to my Mommy friends who dropped some other appointments just so they could attend my class and have a mother-daughter bonding with their girls!

Thank you Aida for coaching me in making this very first album I ever made! :) I will never forget those pointers: chipboards, buttons, stamping, twines, accordion... It was an honor to be tutored by you!

Thank you Sheryl for introducing Bigshot to me more than a year ago... It all started there :) Thank you to all the staff of MWL, especially Hani for being patient and helpful to me in my first assignment.

Thank you Khaye for the photo I used for this project. And to the cute girls in the photo.I hope to see you in my class soon! :)

Thank you Benjo, Rujim, Miguel for being my top 3 fans :) you are my constant inspiration and my deepest reason.

Thanks for looking!
I can't wait to share with you my next class! UP NEXT! :)

Negros Walk!

"Negros Walk is a walk for health. This is a historic 661-kilometer walk around Negros on foot to be initiated by  Jimmy A. Badilla, a 60-year-old granddad who believes that good health can be achieved through walking."

Jimmy Badilla (in the above photo, with my mother Flor Badilla) is my father :)  Today is his birthday and it is his birthday wish to stop smoking and live a healthy life. Thus, the Negros Walk. Initially I and all my other siblings were in doubt of this but we eventually supported him seeing this makes him happy. And since I'm a million miles away from them, the least I could do is to "walk" with them via my cross trainer! An hour each day till this cause culminates. Today is my second day :) Loving it! Please help us pray for my parents as they walk for their health. Thanks heaps!

Happy Birthday Papang! We love you very much!

You may send some love and encouragement by visiting Negros Walk in Facebook It will surely inspire my father! Thank you!

Challenge #36: "Inspire"

Since August is my birthday month,  I was invited to host and judge a challenge at  Scrappers At SG, a group I am proud to belong :) So for this month, using my current favorite "A walk in the park" collection from Eco Park and a Donna Downey stamp,  I made a very simple yet inspiring page...

The challenge is  to make a 12x12 layout WITHOUT a photo, using any style and/or techniques as long as the theme of the whole LO is able to INSPIRE or MOTIVATE.

...the word "inspire" is one of the latest from Sizzix, available at Made With Love, our sponsor for this month. Thank you MWL!

... couldn't find a stamp to fit the layout, I scribbled an inspiring line that I wanna tell myself.

I hope you get to join our challenge :) Have a happy week ahead!
