One fine Sunday...

Any mom with (just) BOYS out there? Come let's scrapbook :)

Scrapbooking is not just for pretty girls. It's not just about flowers and laces and pretty things. It's for our little rock stars too. Thanks to Sizzix for making my life easy with the coolest dies they have.

I have kept this photo for awhile because I wanted to use it with this Sizzix bicycle die. And when the die came, this layout happened effortlessly!

Remember that pretty pink camera in my previous post? I used the same Retro TV Camera die and changed to  "manly" colors and alas!

When my son Miguel got home and saw this, he read the journaling and I was shocked that at 6, he could already read cursive. Or maybe it's just normal for a 6 year old to read cursive? I don't know. never mind. What I want to think about is what he said after reading it. "Thank you Mommy for making a scrapbook about me and Kuya and for saying that you are happy to see us enjoy together at the park!"

I was speechless :) and happy!

Celebrate Love

It's time to share with you my latest creation for Made With Love. This round, our theme is "Celebrations".  And it is just perfect because I'm going to celebrate my birthday soonest!

If you'd let me choose between and expensive bag and a notebook, I'd choose the latter. Honest. My notebook is my best friend. It knows my secrets, my dreams. I write my prayers on it. My disappointments, my happy thoughts! I list down my goals on it.  Recipes.  Grocery list. I can't live without a bag but I can never ever survive a day without my notebooks!

In a few days, I will be turning 40 and I am quite excited about it. It feels great at this point of my life now, (Thank You God!) So to celebrate this great milestone, I made a special notebook for myself. In here I will record all the happy events of my life... to celebrate life and love, at forty :)

It's actually just an ordinary notebook from a local bookstore, that now looks extra special because of some simple tricks made by Sizzix!

I covered the notebook with papers from Webster's Pages and played around with stencils and texture paste. Once dry, I cut details such as balloons, bicycles and such from the patterned papers and adhered those on the notebook cover.

Then I made these flowers using the Sizzix Camellia die. You can never go wrong with a Sizzix flower die + vellum + glitter. It's a guaranteed no-fail combination!

How do you like this cute camera detail here? It's made using my little scrap cardstocks and the really cute Retro TV & Camera die set.

This notebook is so much fun and easy to make :) All you need is your Sizzix machine and dies, a little bit of supplies and a heart full of happy thoughts and inspiration!

worth remembering

I checked my calendar and looked at my activities this past week. I wanted to be proud of myself for having done a lot for the world. But when I really thought about it, the things that made me smile were not the ones listed in my calendar. These were the simple things I did randomly. Things that were not urgent but I did them anyway.

... wanting to make someone happy.

... seeing Jaime Oliver's very effortless way of making a poached egg and attempted to do it too, failing miserably haha! I ate 3 poached eggs today because I didn't wanna waste eggs :)

... crackle painting my nails.

... discovering my two darlings bonding non-verbally.

... Okay,  to have their hair cut is was my planner. But the burgers + caramel sundae date? Definitely not! It happened after a debate with Miguel lol.

Thank God for  providing me with all the time to do the things that are so simple but worth remembering.... (that's why I blogged about them!)  Hope we all have a bright and happy week ahead!
